Who we are

A Concrete Company for Homeowners

BGC Construction is a concrete contractor serving Homeland and the towns around it in western Riverside County. Homeland lies on Highway 74 between Perris and Hemet, at the foot of the Lakeview Mountains. We work for homeowners, and concrete is our whole trade.

Census Bureau figures show that about two in three Homeland homes are mobile or manufactured homes. More than one in ten went up in 2020 or later. An older place might need a driveway replacement, broken out and re-poured. A newer house might need a backyard patio, with stamped and colored concrete in place of plain gray.

Some projects begin below ground. We pour the footings and stem walls under a room addition or a garage. We also pour the slab under an ADU or a casita. On every job, we look at the site first and put the quote in writing.

Why Choose BGC

Residential Concrete Work Around Homeland

Residential concrete only

We pour concrete for homeowners, out front and out back. That covers the driveway, the patio, the garage floor and the footings for a new room.

Old concrete out, new concrete in

A badly cracked driveway or patio gets a break out and re-pour. The old concrete is hauled off, and new concrete goes in its place.

How We Work

How a Job With BGC Runs

From the first call or text to the finished work, here is how it goes.

1

Call or text

Call or text (951) 483-4138. Tell us what you want poured and the town the house is in, and text photos if you have them.

2

We look at the job

We come out and measure the area. We also check the slope of the ground and how the ready-mix truck will reach the pour.

3

Your written quote

The quote lists the work and the price. Once you say yes, we set a date for the job.

4

Prep and forms

California law requires whoever digs to contact DigAlert at least two working days before the dig. On a replacement, the old slab comes out first. Then the ground is graded and the forms go in.

5

The pour and the finish

The ready-mix truck arrives, and we pour and finish the concrete. We clean up when the work is done. Then we tell you when you can walk on the new concrete and when you can drive on it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions About a Concrete Driveway, Patio or Slab?

Answers to the questions homeowners around Homeland and the Inland Empire ask about concrete work. If yours is not here, call or text and we will answer it.

Call (951) 483-4138

What does a concrete contractor do?
A concrete contractor sets the forms, then pours and finishes the concrete. We do that work for homes only: driveways, patios, stamped concrete, slabs, walkways and foundations. Some of it happens indoors, such as the floor for a garage conversion. Commercial concrete is work for another contractor.
What areas do you serve?
Our service area is centered on Homeland, with Romoland and Winchester close by. We work across western Riverside County and into San Bernardino County. That includes Menifee, Perris, Hemet, Moreno Valley, Riverside, San Bernardino, Corona, Lake Elsinore, Murrieta and Temecula. Our service areas page lists every town.
How does pricing work?
We price each job after we look at it. The size of the area drives the price, along with any old concrete that has to come out. A stamped or colored finish adds work, and so does a backyard the truck cannot reach. Your quote comes in writing before any work starts.
How do the heat and the ground around Homeland affect concrete?
Homeland's flats are sandy, granite-derived soil that drains well, with rock close to the surface on the hillsides. Parts of Perris, Sun City, Menifee and Murrieta sit on expansive clay, which calls for more care under the slab. Summer is the other factor: July and August highs average in the mid to upper 90s in these valleys. In that heat, the work calls for an early start and curing that begins right after the finish.
Can you fix a cracked or sunken driveway?
We replace it. A badly cracked or sunken driveway comes out, and a new one is poured in its place. A replacement is also a good time to widen the driveway or add an RV pad beside it.
How long before I can walk or drive on new concrete?
A state concrete association's homeowner guide says you can walk on new concrete after 24 to 48 hours. It says most mixes can take cars within three days, though many contractors wait a week. We tell you the day your new driveway can take a car.
Do you pour foundations for additions and ADUs?
Yes. We pour footings and stem walls for additions and garages, and slab foundations for ADUs and casitas. The plans come from your designer or engineer, and the work goes in under your permit. The building inspector checks the footings before the pour.
Do I need a permit for concrete work?
Homeland is unincorporated, so Riverside County Building and Safety is the permit office there. Its list of work exempt from permits includes driveways and walkways no more than 30 inches above grade. Additions, garages, carports and patio covers need a permit. Inside a city such as Menifee, the city's building office answers the question, and we point you there.
Do you pour sidewalks?
Yes, on your own property. We pour front walkways and side-yard paths, plus steps and a landing at the door. Public sidewalks and curb and gutter are street work for the city or another contractor, under a separate permit. Our driveway work also stops at your side of the property line.
